X. I Am Sith
[Revision/Replacement created by: Sopho Tremis]
============
  • Oath

You're about to finish the "Crimson Dawn" and become aspiring member of the Order. You've chosen a name, learned about values and principles - maybe even overcome some of your previous prejudices.

But before you actually enter our midst, you need to understand what order means and show us your loyalty.

This may surprise you, we are inspired by Sith structure after all. But don't be mistaken - every society needs hierarchy. To maintain said hierarchy, each member needs to share bond of loyalty.

The term "order" has many meanings - we can trace it to medieval structures (temples and monastic orders), or it can refer to logical arrangement (order of things seen). Even as opposite to anarchy (ruling order).

1) What does "order" mean to you? [500 words or more, try thinking about different applications of the term.]

You'll find that every order has purpose, goal if you will. What is our goal? Beyond just seeking power. You have chance to play the watchmaker now; what goal would you want us to pursue?

2) Pick one of the existing orders of our past and define it's structure and purpose.
[Recommended reading: Alan John Forey, The Military Orders: From the Twelfth to the Early Fourteenth Centuries - 1992]

Initiation to an order was accompanied by oath, statement of honor - promise of loyalty and bearing of ideals/goals.
In today's world, honor is slowly evaporating, replaced by contracts and lawyers.

3) What does honor mean to you? [no limit, diligence is welcomed]

Taking said oath is no simple thing, you should be prepared to act upon it - or not take it at all. We may be motivated by power, influence or freedom; but none of it can be gained without dedicated loyalty.

4) What does loyalty mean to you? [500 words or more]

Now are you ready to take your oath?
